Lost
Somebody opend our car and stole various goods. We're in al small city where everybody knows WHO it was. May the Family Nuñez of Tunuyan burn in hell. And yes - the cops where very helpful. See image.
Unser lieber Lada wurde aufgebrochen und diverse dinge geklaut. Wir sind in einer kleinen friedlichen Stadt, wo alle alle kennen und alle wissen WER es war. Auch die Polizei - aber die laesst sich mit schmiergeldern ruhig stellen. Moege die Familie Nuñez an ihrer Weihnachtsschoggi ersticken.
Tunuyan/Mendoza. Alguien abrio nuestra Lada querida y robo varias cosas. Toda la gente sabe quien fue - hasta la policia. Debe quemar en el infierno las mil putas de la familia Nuñez . Gracias a la comiseria 15 de Tunuya. (-> ironia)

Double Boca
We're in Mendoza. Soccerclub Boca Juniors from Buenos Aires win the Copa Libertadores - the Champions League of south america - a couple of days after winning the national championship.
Wir sind in Mendoza. Boca Juniors (Buenos Aires) gewinnt den Copa Libertadores, die suedamerikanische Champions League, nachdem sie vor wenigen Tagen die nationale Meisterschaft gewonnen haben.

La Alumbrera
After almost one week we get finaly access to the biggest mine in Argentina. Sold by ex-president Menem, La Alumbrera gold- and copper-mine is in australian hands and indeed very big.
Christof didn't get in because of security problems. his plaster (broken foot) wasn't save enough.
Despues quasi una semana de entrevistas, llamadas y mas llamadas por telefono nos dan el permiso para entrar a La Alumbrera, la mina (de oro y cobre) mas grande de la argentina. Vendido en la epoca Menem, esta es de verdad una mina muy muy grande.
A Christof no lo dejaron entrar por seguridad por su yeso en el pie izgierda.
Nach fast einer Woche betteln fuer eine Besichtigungsberechtigung kriegen wir schlussendlich gruenes Licht. Verkauft an Australier von ex-President Menem ist die La Alumbrera Gold- und Kupfermine heute die groesste Mine ganz Argentiniens.
Christof wurde der Eintritt dann doch noch untersagt, weil sein Gipsfuss den Sicherheitsbestimmungen nicht entsprach.

We're still in Belen, Catamarca Province, trying to get access to a Gold/Coppermine. More soon... it's to hot to find words at the moment...
Todavia en Belen/Catamarca. Estamos esperando permiso para sacar fotos en una minera de cobre y oro al cielo abierto.

Abra del Acay
crossing the highest peakof our trip. (sorry John, little air on top made us forgett your bottle of champagne). our car with some problems; the last 10 km we drive backwards.
en el techo del mundo. poco aire, mucha vista. la lada tiene sus problemas; las ultimas 10 km andamos en marcha atras!
es fehlt die luft und die aussicht ist atemberaubend. unser lada mit ersten problemen auf 4500 m. die letzen 10 km fahren wir im rueckwaertsgang die passstrasse hinauf!

Arming our tent in the big saltsea. in northern argentina. All here is made out of salt.... even the builing to the right!
Una noche en las salinas grandes.. Todo es de sal... hasta el internetcafe (!) a la derecha.
Unser nachtlager auf dem grossen salzmeer. in nordargentinien... alles ist aus salz, auch das haus rechts!

on the road - en camino - unterwegs
1500 km done. we're in SALTA. 500 more to go until the start of national route 40.
ya estamos en SALTA (donde llueve y hace mucho frio!!). faltan mas o menos 500 km hasta abra pampa donde empieza la 40.
wir sind in SALTA, 1500 km noerdlich von buenos aires. der lada lauft und es fehlen noch 500 km bis zum doerfchen wo die 40 beginnt. jochen ist schon drei kilo dicker.
